Make a difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Educational Assistant in a supportive elementary school environment near Racine, WI. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work collaboratively with educators, providing essential support to students with special needs and helping foster a positive classroom atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a Paraprofessional, ideally within an educational or school setting
- Must be eligible to obtain a Wisconsin DPI (Department of Public Instruction) paraprofessional certification
- Compassion, patience, and a strong dedication to supporting students with diverse learning requirements
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, following direction from lead teachers and special education staff
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following school protocols
Position Highlights:
- Support elementary-aged students throughout the school day, assisting with academic tasks, social skills development, and behavioral strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to ensure every student can succeed
- Assist with classroom management, organization of materials, and supervision during activities and transitions
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment for all students
This is a Monday through Friday role, aligned with the school day schedule. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience supporting students and educators, make meaningful connections, and contribute to a nurturing school community.
