Facility Overview

Our organization operates as Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) that offer:

• Long-term care: Providing ongoing skilled support and compassionate daily assistance to residents.
• Short-term, sub-acute rehabilitation: Assisting patients in recovery from surgery, illness, or injury.
• Collaborative care: Utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach with nursing, therapy, and medical staff working in unison.

The patient demographics may vary slightly by facility. As a therapy professional, you will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve functional improvements and enhance their quality of life in a supportive, patient-focused environment.

Position Responsibilities

The COTA Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will:

• Provide direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients referred by physicians, under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
• Participate in community health initiatives and projects as needed.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
• Act as a liaison with patients, families, and support departments, demonstrating knowledge of practices, procedures, and regulations governing post-acute care facilities.
• Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Exhibit proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
• Understand and adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training.
• Utilize therapy software accurately and effectively.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
• Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language effectively.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT).
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
