Industrial Electrician V - 1st Shift

Amentum is seeking a 1st shift Industrial Electrician V to join our team in Davenport, IA. Typical work schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm; weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation. The Industrial Electrician will maintain equipment up to 480V, perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs, and effectively communicate with site management and clients. Responsibilities Manage all power‑related work, scheduling, and monthly maintenance for the Downtown office buildings and facilities. Perform preventive maintenance on industrial electrical control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (SAP). Manage and update the electrical asset lists, edit, create, and initiate PMs based on recommended intervals for all buildings in Davenport. Execute PMs and schedule outages with building managers and clients. Coordinate larger maintenance efforts with the power crew manager for substations, breakers, load break interrupters, transformers, and various power distribution panels. Read schematics and one‑lines to troubleshoot problems. Mark up arc‑flash drawings based on changes and updates. Perform safety and hazard assessments prior to performing any work. Operate circuit breakers and disconnects as part of normal maintenance. Inspect and document findings. Communicate with clients and management about issues found and work completion. Respond to emergency calls and take necessary actions. Direct the work of unskilled and semi‑skilled helpers, ensuring proper safety practices are followed. Coordinate work with outside contractors and power crew. Follow standard NFPA 70E and IEEE procedures as required. Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance. Minimum Requirements 7+ years electrical experience in an industrial environment or a combination of education and experience. Experience working safely with voltages up to 480V. Ability to read and troubleshoot from electrical onelines and schematics. Valid driver’s license. Familiarity with electrical test equipment—multimeters, megger, and verifiers. Experience working with distribution panels and switchboards. Follow company lockout/tagout procedures. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in industrial technology or certificate from an industrial electrical course. Experience installing rigid conduit and EMT up to 3 inch. Working knowledge of NEC, sizing wire and transformers, calculating conduit fill. Experience with a CMMS or maintenance management system (e.g., SAP, Maximo, MP2). NFPA‑70E training preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30feet or higher. Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs. Ability to climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during a shift. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and kneel repetitively during a shift. Ability to move in a 90‑degree fashion repetitively during a shift. Ability to stretch and reach repetitively during a shift. Ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during a shift. Use of a company/client‑approved utility knife. Ability to differentiate wire color‑coding. Repetitive wrist movements required. Operate office equipment and computer keyboard to access data bases, send/receive messages, and prepare documents. Interact with all clients professionally and friendly, even under stressful periods. Special Requirements Wear steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other personal protective equipment as needed. Cope with job‑related stressors to maintain acceptable performance levels.
