Lead Water Mitigation Technician

As a Lead Water Mitigation Technician , you will play a critical leadership role in restoring homes and commercial properties damaged by water, fire, smoke, mold, and other disasters. You will lead mitigation projects from initial emergency response through completion, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with IICRC standards and company procedures.

In this role, you'll serve as the primary point of contact on the job site, providing exceptional customer service while mentoring technicians, coordinating daily operations, and maintaining the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead water mitigation projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company and IICRC standards.
• Respond to emergency water losses and initiate mitigation procedures, including water extraction, structural drying, and moisture monitoring.
• Perform and oversee mold remediation and fire/smoke damage cleanup as needed.
• Supervise, train, and mentor restoration technicians, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
• Communicate with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders regarding the scope of work, project progress, and required documentation.
• Develop and maintain daily job schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and customer expectations are exceeded.
• Complete job documentation accurately using company software, including moisture readings, photos, and daily progress notes.
• Resolve job site issues professionally and communicate updates with management and office staff.
• Inspect, maintain, and organize restoration equipment and company vehicles to ensure readiness for emergency response.
• Review work orders, coordinate daily routes, and verify all necessary equipment and materials are loaded before leaving for each job.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of water mitigation/restoration experience required.
• Previous leadership or crew lead experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of water damage restoration, structural drying, mold remediation, and fire restoration practices.
• Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, emergency service environment.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Computer proficiency with job management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds on occasion.

Preferred Certifications

• WRT – Water Damage Restoration Technician
• ASD – Applied Structural Drying
• AMRT – Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (preferred)
• IICRC certifications are highly valued but not required.
