Job Title: Stepdown Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: PCU RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Positive attitude, good communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities Description: This position is for a Stepdown Registered Nurse in a fast-paced environment. RNs in this unit provide care for adults and geriatric patients with various conditions. Common diagnoses include cardiac issues, nephrology, strokes, diabetes, and patients on continuous EEG monitoring. Nurses will be required to titrate drips for medications such as Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications. Charge nurses are present on each shift and take an assignment. The unit has patient care technicians available for assistance. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically between 1:4 to 1:5. Shifts are from 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700. Every other weekend and every third holiday are required. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating to medical floors, ICU, or rehab may be required. The unit is looking for candidates with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems effectively. Candidates must adhere to policies regarding artificial nails and conduct a pass/fail exam during the orientation. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
