Service Advisor

Summary Responsible for selling, identifying, documenting, and scheduling service, maintenance, and repair for customers. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work with customer and technician to identify required maintenance. Advise customers on necessary and recommended services. Offer additional services and repairs to customers. Compute cost of replacement parts and labor to restore vehicle to customer’s specified condition. Estimate cost of mechanical, electrical, or other repairs. Enter itemized estimate on service order and explain estimate to customer. Schedule appointments with customer. Meet dealership’s standards for repair and order production. Maintain CSI at or above company standards. Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area. Participate in required training. Record all hours worked accurately in company time‑keeping system. Follow Safeguards rules and regulations. Demonstrate the company’s core values. Comply with company policies and procedures. Observe all federal, state, local and company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties. Qualifications Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge and working experience in automotive or customer service industries. Working knowledge of the mechanical operations of vehicles. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills. Desired education: High School Diploma (GED acceptable), Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, Master Degree, Doctorate Degree. Desired work experience: up to 3 years, 3‑5 years, or 5+ years. Valid driver’s license; Automobile Salesperson license (if applicable). Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of dealership management system and other web‑based applications used for operations. Ability to understand and follow instructions; communicate effectively with customers and company personnel. Regular and predictable attendance; scheduled shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays. Physical ability to talk or hear regularly; stand, walk, sit frequently; tolerance for noise, vibration, exhaust fumes and other repair conditions. Ability to read, comprehend, and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
