A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN II

As a Journeyman Electrician II, you spend your day working on maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and circuits. Work involves installing, replacing, and maintaining electrical systems, apparatus, components of machinery, and equipment. Your job is essential to the city, and you often recommend improvements for energy efficient motors, large repairs, lighting and other components. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem aiding and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in maintenance and operation of sewer infrastructure and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN II

• High school diploma, GED or equivalency

• Requires three (3) years' experience in commercial type installation electrical work, magnetic starters, and motor control circuits
• Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
• Required to receive Electrician's (Journeyman's) License.
