Job Summary The Journeyman Carpenter will work with the project management team to complete projects under contract. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with a team of professionals to complete these projects within the projected deadline and under budget. Journeymen will be expected to plan, lay‑out and perform all types of Carpentry work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This position will be working in a heavy industrial construction setting. The project is for the United States Army Corps of Engineers and will require a background check to gain site access. Davis‑Bacon wages will be paid. Responsibilities Read and interpret prints, drawings, plans, specifications, and visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. Construct, erect, install, and repair structures, scaffolding, and framework using hand and power tools. Measure, cut, assemble, and install forms, rebar, embeds, and anchor bolts; construct and erect built‑in‑place or prefabricated wooden forms, according to specifications for molding concrete structures. Erect built‑in‑place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms; insert spreaders and tie‑rods between opposite pieces to maintain specific dimensions; brace forms in place using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, and timber. Pour concrete into finished forms, finish concrete surfaces to specifications, and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications. Required Qualifications Experience as a Concrete Carpenter Journeyman in a powerplant/industrial setting. TWIC Card and/or Real ID’s. Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision. Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools as well as measurement tools. Preferred Qualifications Constantly move about a construction/industrial site; should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Work in a construction environment and be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions. Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required. May be required to use ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, scaffold to access required equipment/work areas; must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
