Shift Leader

Responsibilities Lead the team, ensuring food is prepared accurately and delivered to customers in a timely manner. Oversee shifts and delegate tasks. Demonstrate exemplary knowledge of the job and provide excellent customer service. Address upset customers and food-related issues politely, ensuring customer satisfaction. Accept deliveries, verify they are complete and correct, or issue refunds as needed. Communicate with managers/owners about inventory status, delivery timeliness, order completeness, and stock levels. Check daily petty cash and go to the bank for change if needed. Restock the register with the correct change. Communicate with managers/owners about employees’ strengths, weaknesses, dependability, and customer service. Manage break schedules to ensure timely arrivals and appropriate breaks. Attend management meetings. Share new ideas to improve efficiency, safety, and recipe ideas. Assist with interviews, evaluations, and training. Memorize training material and explain health benefits of ingredients and food to customers in an upbeat, informative manner. Keep the front lobby and outside area clean and regularly inspect its condition. Provide excellent customer service, maintain a positive and polite demeanor, and give accurate wait times. Assist customers and ring up guests, answer phone calls, and take orders over the phone. Maintain thorough knowledge of food and recipes; follow recipes and prepare all food in a timely and sanitary manner. Prep food according to proper procedures. Continuously and thoroughly clean the kitchen and lobby. Put away deliveries and keep everything organized. Wash dishes and put away. Coordinate with other staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and promptly. Deliver food to customers. Communicate with managers about the schedule and inform them promptly of requested days off. Be punctual and take breaks for appropriate lengths of time. Complete all opening and closing duties. Perform additional tasks requested by the manager. Follow sanitation guidelines. Stock and rotate food. Adhere to safety procedures. Practice cost-cutting measures where appropriate. Contribute to a collaborative team environment. Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers. Become food certified. Be able to operate a basic computer and POS system; handle cash and credit cards. Follow health, sanitary, and safety requirements. Stand for long periods, lift heavy boxes occasionally, move quickly, and maintain a sense of urgency. Maintain a clean, professional appearance. Come to work with a positive attitude and work well with others. Qualifications Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as described above (including occasional lifting). Proficiency with basic computer use and POS systems; handling cash and credit cards. Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to lead and manage a team.
