$2,000 Sign-On Bonus (taxable) Available Full-time, 40 hours/week Variable Day Shift 7:30A-4:30P Onsite Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse assists in assessing, planning, and delivering nursing care for a group of patients under the delegation of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities Provides to individuals and groups nursing care requiring the application of basic knowledge of the biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences at the direction of a licensed provider or registered nurse. Assists in patient/family education as well as teaching staff members under the direction of a registered nurse. Performs assessment duties. Performs planning duties. Performs nursing care delivery duties. Participates in educational efforts within the department. Performs other assigned tasks to promote efficient practice operation and contribute to quality patient care. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age and developmental status. Other duties as required. Technical Expertise Must be able to work as part of a team and interact with people in a friendly, supportive manner at all times. Previous physician office experience is preferred. Ability to perform phlebotomy is preferred. Experience working with various levels within an organization is required. Experience in healthcare is preferred. Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required. Experience with an electronic medical record system (e.g. EPIC) is preferred. Education and Experience Education: Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing is required. Certification: Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Ohio is required. Must have or be able to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Must also have completed one of the following certifications: Ohio Medication Card, Ohio Organization of Practical Nurse Educators (OOPNES) Card, National Association for Practical Nurse Education Services (NAPNES) Card. If assigned to general care units, Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification is required. If assigned to critical care units, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required. If assigned to the Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Sedation Services, Transitional Care/Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, and Transport, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NRP is required within 1 year from date of hire.
