We are seeking a Creative/Design Director in Tribeca, NYC, to lead the vision for our outdoor and active lifestyle brand. You will disrupt the traditional outdoor narrative, rejecting narrow customer personas to create universally adaptable bags and wearable gear for all active lifestyles.
The Mission
The traditional outdoor industry is built on exclusive architectures—defining the customer by extreme sports, specific terrains, or rigid aesthetics. We refuse to accept these boundaries. Our mission is to interrupt this paradigm by creating universal solutions for active lifestyles of all kinds. We build gear for human movement, seamless transitions, and everyday utility, completely redefining what active gear can be. As the Creative/Design Director, you will be the architectural force behind this disruption. You will translate our inclusive, forward-thinking mission into concrete product strategies. Your designs for bags and wearable accessories will challenge the status quo, merging raw technical performance with universal, democratic design.
Key Responsibilities
Disruptive Product Vision: Lead end-to-end design for bags, packs, and wearable gear that reject traditional category silos.
Universal Innovation: Pioneer multi-functional, ergonomic solutions that adapt seamlessly across diverse human experiences, environments, and lifestyles.
Brand Identity & Creative Direction: Establish an inclusive, high-utility aesthetic language across all products, packaging, and digital touchpoints.
Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of industrial and accessory designers to think outside industry norms.
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Sourcing, Product Development, and Marketing to scale our mission and deliver commercially viable, revolutionary products.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of design and creative leadership experience, specifically with technical bags, backpacks, or soft accessories.
Philosophical Alignment: A portfolio that demonstrates a desire to challenge convention, break category rules, and design inclusively.
Technical Acumen: Mastery of soft-goods construction, hardware sourcing, advanced materials, and ergonomic testing.
Studio Presence: Ability to work on-site and collaborate closely in our Tribeca, NYC studio.
What We Offer
Competitive Base Salary: $160,000 – $220,000 annually.
