Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to provide support to our Corporate Controller. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for collecting, verifying, and entering financial data for use in accounting records/reports.

This position is temporary till the end of December 2026. Full-time, hourly, working approximately 25 hours weekly, and onsite in our Corporate office location in Austin, TX 78746.

What This Position Looks Like

• Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
• Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Operate 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
• Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
• Code documents according to company procedures.
• Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
• Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
• Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
• Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments.

The Knowledge and Skills Needed From You

• Highschool diploma or equivalent is required.
• Degree is a plus, but not required.
• 3+ years of strong accounting experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Intermediate user of Excel.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Good problem-solving and time management skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.

Working Environment/Physical Demands

Our corporate culture is based on one of respect. We encourage collaboration and teamwork, but individuals must be able to work and think independently, as well. The position of accounting assistant will interact with staff via one‑on‑one discussions, group meetings, phone conversations, and email. Accordingly, the person in this position must be an excellent communicator, honor confidentiality, and serve as a trusted member of the Company’s Accounting Team. Will use repetitive hand‑wrist motion while using computer and writing. Must have normal range of vision to read and complete general paperwork and handle computerized duties; hearing and speech to communicate with vendors, supervisors, and coworkers on the telephone or in person on a regular basis.
