Data Science Project Manager — Utility / Energy Sector
Location: Los Angeles, CA — 100% onsite, 5 days per week | Engagement: Contract — direct W2 only (U.S. citizens & Green Card holders)
We're looking for a Project Manager to lead the delivery of data science and machine learning initiatives for a utility / energy client, working onsite in Los Angeles five days a week . You'll partner day-to-day with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to turn complex, data-heavy problems into shipped, measurable outcomes — owning scope, timelines, risk, and adoption across the full project lifecycle.
What We're Looking For- Data science experience — required. A track record managing or delivering data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics projects (not just general IT/software).
- Utility / energy industry experience — required. Prior work in or with utilities, energy, or a comparable regulated infrastructure environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be able to work directly on our W2 — no Corp-to-Corp or 1099 arrangements.
- Able to work onsite in Los Angeles five days per week for the full duration of the contract.
- Strong stakeholder and risk management, with clear executive-level communication.
- Local candidates (Los Angeles / Southern California) are strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working with Southern California Edison (SCE) is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data/ML pipelines; PMP or CSM a plus.
- Type: Contract — direct W2 only (no Corp-to-Corp or 1099).
- Work authorization: U.S. citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holder).
- Location: Los Angeles, CA — onsite, five days per week (no hybrid or remote); local candidates preferred.
