About the Role
At Preferred Electric, we’re redefining electrical contracting through cutting-edge BIM technologies and collaborative project management. As our BIM Lead Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of electrical design, leading projects from concept to completion, ensuring seamless integration across teams, and driving continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate electrical design with other MEPF trades to ensure integrated, efficient solutions.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and contractors to keep projects aligned and communication clear.
• Produce and review detailed drawings, including 2D and 3D components, to optimize installation processes and accuracy.
• Model electrical systems, including panels, equipment, lighting schedules, and details for prefabrication.
• Create as-built drawings and support site visits to verify project execution.
• Manage project details within Forma Cloud platform and maintain thorough documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to BIM team members and drafters.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to elevate project outcomes.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and ensure timely delivery of all project milestones.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or coordinator role.
• Proven knowledge of electrical system design in commercial projects and familiarity with electrical codes and standards.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Navisworks, and Trimble software for Total Station.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects with attention to quality and safety.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with BIM implementation, execution plans, and project management tools.
• Knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
