Accountant/Bookkeeper

O2 Employment Services is working with a reputable water district to find their next Bookkeeper / Accountant . This position is based in Redding, CA.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in accounting and financial reporting, with the ability to manage multiple financial tasks while supporting administrative operations and providing excellent customer service.

• $32 – $35 per hour

Bookkeeper / Accountant Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and general ledger management
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and fiscal controls
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office software
• Experience with accounting or utility billing software preferred
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, management, and the public
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in financial records
• Valid California Driver’s License may be required

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate daily accounting and bookkeeping functions
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, revenue, and expenditures
• Prepare monthly journals, financial reports, and account reconciliations
• Assist with budget preparation and financial projections
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audits with outside auditors
• Perform accounts payable functions and financial record keeping
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review
• Assist with Board meeting materials and record meeting minutes
• Provide customer assistance related to utility billing
• Maintain accurate financial records and support long-term financial planning
