Description Line of Responsibility: Dental Assistant under the direct supervision of the attending Dentist and otherwise reports to the Dental Practice Manager. Purpose: To provide, together with the Dentist, four‑handed assistance and help the dental staff provide quality care for patients. Responsibilities Clinical assisting. Taking radiographs. Maintaining instruments and machinery. Proper cleaning and sterilization of instruments and handpieces. Stay current on new requirements for sterilization and maintenance. Inventory supplies and maintain stocked dental supplies. Accompany patients to/from waiting area. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Water line maintenance and flushing as needed. Operatory infection control: utilize patient mouth rinse prior to any procedures. Verify patient medications and health history, advise dentist. Requirements Massachusetts Dental Assisting License. Radiology certification or course that meets Massachusetts requirements. Ability to travel between multiple organizational locations as needed.
