Primary City/State Phoenix, Arizona Department Name Endoscopy-Hosp Work Shift Day Job Category Clinical Care Position Summary In this role you will assist in all types of GI, Biliary and Pulmonary procedures, including advanced/interventional Biliary and Pulmonary procedures. The position requires a fast paced, collaborative environment with a focus on patient care and equipment management. Shift Details Employment Type: Full-time Hours per Week: 4-10s | 40hrs Shift: day shift – start times may vary between 6:30 AM and 8 AM Schedule: Monday‑Friday On Call: Yes, weekend and holiday rotations required. Compensation: Flat rate $5/hr for call, $1/hr weekend shift differential and an 18% night shift differential, when applicable. Core Functions Assists with case preparations, ensures equipment is readily available and working properly, and is knowledgeable in selecting the appropriate instruments and supplies that physicians request for the case. Maintains accurate preference cards and reviews daily cases to communicate supply needs, equipment repairs, and educational needs. Assists in performing endoscopic procedures in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, works closely with infection control, and anticipates changing needs. Demonstrates principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure, disposes of sharps and trash, and is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing and storing scopes. Keeps up to date with SGNA and AAMI standards, performs audits, and completes continuous education for compliance. Possesses extensive knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, assists with proper set up and positioning, and ensures procedure rooms and carts are cleaned and stocked. Works with physicians and lead nurse to ensure accuracy of preference cards and pick lists. Assists with procedure room turnover, stocking, replenishing supplies, and cleaning, and leads training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students as assigned. Provides business support to the department, including administrative tasks, serving internal and external customers. Follows safety procedures for specimen handling, sharps handling, time‑out procedures, radiation and laser safety, infection control, and equipment disassembly. Demonstrates proficiency with general GI, advanced GI, and pulmonary cases and participates in emergency call rotation. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Two to three years of clinical experience as an Endoscopy Technician, demonstrating excellent organizational, communication and human relations skills. Certification: BLS required; SGNA certification required within one year in role. Preferred Qualifications Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
