We are seeking a dependable, organized, and team-oriented Food Service Chef to join our preschool community. This role is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with Primrose standards and licensing guidelines while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a collaborative preschool team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for infants, toddlers, and preschool children
• Plan weekly menus in accordance with school and licensing guidelines
• Create grocery and supply lists and assist with food ordering
• Maintain kitchen inventory and ensure supplies are properly stocked
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and organization at all times
• Follow all health, safety, and food handling regulations
• Wash dishes, sanitize food preparation areas, and maintain equipment
• Assist with classroom support as needed throughout the school day
• Support school-wide cleaning, organization, and light maintenance tasks
• Work collaboratively with leadership and staff to maintain a positive school environment
• Build warm and professional relationships with children, families, and team members

Qualifications

• Previous food service, kitchen, or childcare experience preferred
• ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced preschool environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Team player with a positive and flexible attitude
• Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform active job duties throughout the day
