Iron workers needed to work on ground up high rise buildings, multipurpose arenas and parking garages to Install and weld structural steel and other steel components. Layout, fit, assemble and weld structural steel members. Perform FCAW and SMAW welding as required using 7018 and 6011 welding rod. Work with HSS Tubing, angles, channels, beams, columns, plates and miscellaneous steel. Verify measurements and maintain dimensional accuracy. Inspect completed welds and maintain quality standards. Safely operate grinders, saws, welding machines, scissor lifts, forklifts and/or boom lifts. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Following company safety and worksite requirements.
Previous structural steel welding experience required. Ability to read and understand structural steel shop drawings highly valued and a definite plus but not required. Experience fitting and welding HSS, angles, channels, beams, columns and plates. Experience with welding 7018 and 6011 (FCAW and SMAW welding processes. Current welding certification is preferred but not required. Ability to use a tape measure, grinders, saws, welding machines, scissor lifts and or forklifts/boomlifts. Ability to work safely and efficiently on active construction job sites. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
