Founded in 1858, the company is built on the principles of “Service, Integrity, Reliability” and on relationships of trust and support with teammates, customers, and suppliers. Our business operates in a decentralized environment where each location, called a Profit Center (PC), is run by a Profit Center Manager as a small business. Each PC houses a warehouse, counter, sales office, and sometimes a showroom. PCs operate under unique trade names and offer a customized approach that honors each local marketplace. Hajoca Commercial is one of those trade names and is looking for a Fabrication Manager at its Raleigh, NC location. Are you a leader with a commitment to upholding quality standards? Are you safety‑conscious and service‑oriented? Do you have experience fabricating metals? If so, we’d like you to join our team as a Fabrication Manager. About the Role Manage, schedule, hire and train co‑workers to ensure efficient, effective, and profitable operation of all job functions. Assist with recruiting, developing, training, coaching, and managing the Fabrications team. Set clear performance expectations and goals for teammates and conduct regular performance evaluations. Manage the daily operations in the fabrication shop, scheduling and prioritizing all current and future jobs, job pricing, sourcing raw materials & consumables, and scheduling equipment service & maintenance. Lead the preparation of detailed, lump sum, or unit‑based estimates and submit proposal documents and promote the capabilities of the fabrication shop to customers. Manage backlog, develop and implement project schedules, and allocate resources to hit project delivery dates and ensure positive cash flow for each project. Plan work and identify capacity restrictions or gaps in work. Review performance metrics and cost reports and identify opportunities to improve performance. Develop an annual budget and measure performance against the budget. Routinely update financial forecasts for the department. Ensure cost projections are done accurately and timely. Manage quality control and ensure efficient integration of quality control throughout the manufacturing process. Review all project documents to identify risks and opportunities and to develop a project execution plan. Ensure the Profit Center conducts all business in accordance with company policy and procedures. Safeguard and maintain all Profit Center assets – buildings, fleet, equipment, inventory, and receivables. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required. About You 5+ years of experience in the fabrication process including welding and fabricating multiple types of metals (carbon steel, stainless and galvanized steel, copper) and an in‑depth knowledge of material specifications and fabrication procedures to include cutting, threading, grooving, welding, and T‑drilling. 1+ year of leadership experience. Experience leading and managing a fabrication team, preferably pipe fabrication. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively and create a sense of urgency within the team. Experience interfacing with external clients and internal departments to plan work, manage work, and problem‑solve. History of implementing and managing quality control processes and procedures in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. Experience reviewing isometric drawings and performing material and labor take‑offs. Experience with project management activities including cost analysis, cost projections, purchasing, billing, and job profitability. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to think quickly and find practical solutions. Consultative mindset to understand customers’ business and personal goals and invest in their success as a trusted advisor. Effective use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, maintain customer and vendor contact files, appointments, and analyze performance data. Strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity. Ability to interpret performance report data to determine effectiveness of business operations and take appropriate action to adjust processes to maximize profitability. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other material handling and facility safety regulations and ability to enforce them. Ability to learn and operate the computer‑related systems used for business operations. Basic arithmetic skills – add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Read, write, speak, and understand English.
