Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in a Long-Term Care (LTC) setting is responsible for assisting and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during their shift. The RN ensures that all nursing care complies with Federal, State, and facility standards, guidelines, and regulations, maintaining the highest quality of care for residents. This role involves clinical assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to support patient health and well-being. Responsibilities:
- Assist and supervise nursing activities throughout the shift in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and family members to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and nursing activities.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and facility regulations and guidelines.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding care plans and health maintenance.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training as needed.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, hospital, home health, or hospice settings.
- Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Driver's license, car insurance, and reliable automobile for field work, if applicable.
- Experience in long-term care or senior care facilities.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Additional certifications related to geriatrics or chronic disease management.
- Compliance with all Federal and State nursing standards and regulations.
- Work involves interaction with elderly and frail populations requiring sensitive and compassionate care.
- May require adherence to facility-specific policies and procedures.
- Day shift schedule.
- Shift assignments and hours determined by facility needs and management.
