NDT/NDE Certified Welding Inspector Requisition Number: View phone number on click.appcast.io Location: Charlotte, North Carolina We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with a focus on NDT/NDE to join our team and ensure the structural integrity of steel components and welded systems. This full‑time position includes significant fieldwork on steel structures up to 200+ feet. Your Day-to-Day As a Certified Welding Inspector, you will guide metals technicians through advanced testing assignments, supervise field staff, shape technical decisions that impact project timelines, and independently carry out laboratory and metals testing work. Field Operations: Conduct inspections and apply NDT methods, including ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MT). You will perform field inspections on buildings, communication towers, and water tanks. Assignment Management: Organize and manage testing tasks across multiple projects to support successful completion. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, calibrate, and document testing equipment; oversee field and laboratory inventories; assist in quality assurance audits. Comprehensive Reporting: Prepare thorough reports to clearly present inspection results. The role may involve workweeks exceeding 50 hours during high‑demand periods, with occasional evening, overnight, and weekend shifts as needed. What We Are Looking For We seek a candidate with a strong work ethic, proactive safety mindset, clear communication, and strong organizational skills. Prior experience in Safety, DDC, NDT, or Radiation Training is highly valued. What You Bring Education: High School Diploma/GED Experience: Minimum of 2 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an associate degree in a closely related field Certifications: AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Achievement of ASNT Level II per ASTN-SNT-1A in at least one method Additional Certs a plus: ICC in Building Inspections and/or Structural Steel Inspection Level II UT and/or PT, MT Working Conditions and Physical Demands You will perform physical tasks with company‑provided personal protective equipment.
