Role Description The Outpatient Therapist is a full-time hybrid role based in Farmville, VA, with a combination of in-office and work-from-home hours. The therapist will provide individual, couple, and family counseling using evidence-based interventions, tailored to each client’s developmental stage and unique needs. Daily responsibilities include conducting intakes and assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, and coordinating care with internal and external providers. The role also involves case management activities, such as referrals to community resources, collaboration with schools or medical professionals when appropriate, and ongoing risk assessment and safety planning. The therapist may facilitate or co-facilitate groups, participate in team meetings and trainings, contribute to educational programming, and support the center’s mission of accessible, inclusive mental health care. Qualifications Clinical expertise in Treatment Planning and Psychology, including assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions. Current licensure or license-eligible status in a relevant mental health field (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist) in the state of Virginia. Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related discipline. Experience providing outpatient therapy across diverse ages, backgrounds, and presenting concerns; comfort working with children, adolescents, and adults. Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, including proficiency with electronic health records and telehealth platforms. Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and maintaining client confidentiality and professional boundaries.
