Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth as a part-time Occupational Therapist at educational sites in the San Jose area. This role offers diverse collaboration in school-based settings, starting as soon as possible and lasting through early June. You'll provide direct in-person therapy exclusively on-site (no remote or hybrid work), ensuring comprehensive care for students with developmental needs.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid California Occupational Therapy license or eligibility under the California Occupational Therapy Practice Act
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in pediatric therapy, preferably with a focus on developmental disabilities
- Strong background working within educational environments
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with school teams and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized OT services to students according to IEP goals and district guidelines
- Assess, plan, and implement therapy sessions focused on improving students’ academic participation and daily life skills
- Develop and maintain thorough documentation for all assessments, progress notes, and therapy activities
- Communicate proactively with educators, staff, and families to ensure consistent support strategies and share progress updates
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute specialized OT perspectives in student planning
