Emergency Room Nurse

Our Emergency Department consists of multiple areas including Main ED, Fast Track, and Observation Unit. All ED nurses are expected to rotate through each of these areas regularly. Nurses are assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening. Each nurse can expect to be assigned to a different area daily and may be rotated during their shift based on patient volume and unit needs. Nurses may also assist with Covid testing and immunization clinics as necessary. Schedules typically follow a pattern of 7 days on and 7 days off. Nurses work 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next. Travelers may occasionally float to other departments where they are qualified to work. Tasks may include taking a patient load if experienced and competent or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights or phones. Nurses must have required certifications to maintain compliance with facility standards. Holiday coverage is required.
