This role is located in Boston.In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:In this role, the successful individual will protect our critical information, systems, and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy.You'll help empower our breakthrough innovations, be given challenging assignments, lead initiatives, and take ownership and responsibility.The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of web, database, and application server life-cycles; from installing new hardware and operating systems, support of existing servers and platforms, effecting bug and security patching, performance monitoring and tuning, break/fix troubleshooting, to retirement or upgrade of older hardware and platforms.You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:Strong experience in Linux administration with excellent administration and troubleshooting skills. RedHat engineer certification (RHCE) a plus.Overall 5-7 years of experienceStrong experience in Windows administration + excellent administration and troubleshooting skills with Windows server 2012/2016/2019Experience in VMware administration- Responsible for all day-to-day management of the VMs including: installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, patching and backup and recovery.Experience in SAN / NAS Storage administration - SAN zoning, SAN migration (EMC would be added advantage)Experience in Backup administration - Data Domain, NetBackupExperience with Shell / Powershell / Python scripting.Experience in Ansible, Jenkins and CIDC tools such as GitExposure and Experience with Azure / VMware / Oracle Cloud.Exposure / Experience with Cisco UCS, Oracle ExadataExcellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skillsBNY offers highly competitive compensation, benefits, and wellbeing programs rooted in a strong culture of excellence and our pay-for-performance philosophy. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $69,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company-sponsored benefit programs.This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team.
