Senior Software Engineer
Hirewell
Job Description
Interested in building modern software, owning meaningful technical decisions, and putting AI to work in real products?
\n \nThe focus is on hands-on builders who care about architecture, product quality, and the impact of what they ship.
\n \nThe work
\n• Design, build, and support scalable applications, APIs, and backend services.
\n• Own features from initial design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
\n• Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to turn complex needs into practical solutions.
\n• Improve platform performance, reliability, security, and engineering practices.
\n• Apply AI-assisted development tools and, where relevant, build AI-powered features and workflows.
\n• Contribute to architectural decisions, review code, and mentor fellow engineers.
\n \nThe background
\n• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production applications.
\n• Strong experience in a modern development stack, such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or C#/.NET.
\n• Frontend experience with React, Next.js, or Vue, or deep backend expertise with the ability to contribute across the stack.
\n• Experience with cloud platforms, SQL databases, APIs, automated testing, and CI/CD.
\n• Sound technical judgment and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with others.
\n• Curiosity about AI and how it can improve both software development and the products being built.
\n \nExperience that stands out
\nHands-on work with LLM integrations, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, model evaluation, or enterprise automation. Familiarity with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or MCP integrations is also valuable.
\n \nYou don’t need experience with every technology listed. Depth in your core stack, strong engineering fundamentals, and ownership of shipped work matter most.
\n \nThe specific stack, AI focus, and work arrangement will depend on the team matched to your background and interests.
\n \nInterested? Send me your resume or a quick message with your primary stack, location, and what you’d like to build next. Let’s schedule a conversation.
