Gene Editing Platform Technologies Co-op

Beam Therapeutics seeks a co-op student (January–June 2027) to support the Gene Editing Platform Technologies team in engineering and optimizing base editing systems. The role involves collaborating with scientists on experimental design, reagent development, cell culture evaluation, and data analysis to advance therapeutic gene editing programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project leaders to understand and meet ongoing research needs
• Follow established laboratory protocols with precision and consistency
• Perform mammalian cell culture maintenance and routine procedures
• Generate and evaluate gene editing reagents in cell-based assays
• Document findings and present results to research stakeholders

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a relevant science or engineering discipline
• Laboratory experience with mammalian cell culture techniques
• Strong attention to detail and protocol adherence
• Ability to maintain accurate electronic laboratory documentation
• Collaborative mindset and communication skills
• Analytical ability to interpret experimental data
