Base pay range $30.00/hr - $36.00/hr Title: Business Process Analyst / Technical Writer Location: Carson City, NV (100% on site) Compensation: $30.00 - $36.00/Hour Duration: Contract Work Requirement: US Citizen, GC Holder, or Authorized to work in the U.S. Contact: Jenna Hinkle at View email address on click.appcast.io Summary Our Government client (tax related) is looking for a skilled Business Process Analyst/Technical Writer to create technical documents such as standard operating procedures, business process flows, instruction manuals, how-to guides, journal articles, test cases, and other supporting documents to effectively communicate complex and technical information in a "plain-language” style. The successful candidate will also lead subject matter experts within a specific area and other business analysts for specific tasks. This role supports the Department's modernization efforts regarding the Unified Tax System, an ongoing multi‑year initiative. The documentation will follow the Department's standards and accurately depict current processes and the transition to new modernized processes. The Business Process Analyst must demonstrate enthusiasm, strong leadership, excellent communication, proficient reading and writing, and the ability to use tools for creating business documentation and tracking. The project is expected to finalize in 2026 and will be funded through its life cycle. The role reports to the Function Lead and will be assigned tasks from time to time by the Enterprise Project Management Team. Responsibilities The BPA II will apply knowledge of the client’s program areas to help define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end‑user requirements under guidance of the Business/Functional Lead, Technical Lead, and Project Managers. Lead the transition to MYNT for Taxation’s mailroom optimization project. Serve as the lead for the transition to MYNT for Taxation’s mailroom optimization project. Document processes for both business and technical aspects within the department. Assist in writing test cases for the team and work with the Quality Analyst in support of the Test Plan. Business Process Diagrams and Flow Charts. Evaluate documentation created for a UTS Modernization project and rebrand relevant documentation for Project MYNT using a team branding template. Understand the Functional and Technical Requirements for the project. Understand the AS‑IS business platform and the processes that support the systems within the Department of Taxation. Understand the TO‑BE business platform and assist with development of the new processes. Document the transition from the AS‑IS processes to the TO‑BE processes in "plain‑language.” Support preparations for modernization and each phase of implementation. Organize and attend various Department meetings. Review and prepare content for internal publication and distribution. Prepare the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) with other BPA staff. Write test cases that map back to the RTM. Conduct discovery meetings with Departmental staff. Assist MYNT Team members in documenting processes and procedures. Help manage the Standard Operating Procedures for MYNT of Taxation's processes. Content management and posting for the Team's SharePoint.
