Clinical Assistant

The Rogosin Institute is an independent not-for-profit medical care and research organization affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine. Rogosin is one of the premier centers for the diagnosis and management of kidney disease in the country. The Institute also treats patients with diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders and conducts research in these areas. The Jack Dreyfus Clinic at the Rogosin Institute is currently recruiting for a full-time day shift Clinical Assistant . Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Clinical Assistant participates in the delivery of patient care services by direct patient care and supportive services. Job Duties: • Draws and collects blood from patients and prepares the samples for testing. • Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the EHR system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. • Conducts intake interviews, take vital signs, and draw blood samples. • Pre/post-care instructions and follow aseptic techniques • Prepares patients for examination and assists physician with procedures as requested • Responsible for performing electrocardiogram tests in order to monitor and record electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. • Ensures adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment • Performs other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager Job Requirements: • Associate degree, high school diploma or GED • At least 2 years relevant experience • Must be Certified Phlebotomist technician and Certified EKG Technician • Good communication and computer skills • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information • Work professionally and effectively with patients, visitors and staff • Ability to deal with several tasks at the same time.
