Interim Director Of FinanceA prominent Los Angeles-based museum is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Finance to provide hands-on financial leadership and operational support during a transitional period. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned finance professional with strong nonprofit, fund accounting, and financial systems experience.Responsibilities:Oversee NetSuite and financial planning systems administrationManage accounting period close processes, including lock/unlock functionsReview and approve journal entries while ensuring proper internal controls and segregation of dutiesSupport system governance, compliance, and financial reporting processesManage banking activities and cash transfersOversee restricted cash transactions and fund transfersReview sales tax compliance and assess potential liabilitiesPrepare and analyze monthly financial reportsCalculate and allocate service feesProcess commissions and related paymentsLead fund accounting activities and reconciliationsMaintain and improve reconciliation processes for restricted and designated fundsSupport annual budgeting and ongoing financial forecastingProvide financial analysis to support leadership decision-makingEnsure compliance with donor and foundation requirementsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldSignificant finance leadership experience within nonprofit, higher education, arts, cultural, or mission-driven organizationsStrong knowledge of fund accounting and financial reportingExperience with NetSuite required; budgeting and planning systems experience highly preferredDemonstrated ability to work independently in an interim or consulting capacityExcellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
