Open: June 29, 2026 — Closes: July 13, 2026 Summary You will serve as a Laborer (Motor Vehicle Operating) located at the National Capital Parks-East, Washington, DC. The primary purpose of the position is to perform laboring duties that require significant manual skill, prior work experience or training, and very heavy physical effort. Pay will vary based on grade level and/or duty location for which you're selected. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level. Major Duties Operate large, complex riding lawn mowers that have multiple or independently controlled cutting decks, and/or specially designed mowers that operate on slopes. Operate lawn and garden tractors with various specialty attachments. Operate other types of equipment (e.g., lawn edging equipment, trimmers, brush cutters, brush chippers, etc.) and hand tools (e.g., shovels, picks, pulaskis, digging bars, rakes, etc.) to maintain buildings, grounds, roads, and trails. Carry out special laboring assignments which require knowledge of several steps, phases, or detailed procedures and a practical knowledge of project requirements and objectives. Load and unload supplies and materials from trucks, trailers, dollies, etc. Move furniture, remove and set signs, paint picnic tables and signs, rake and water lawns, trim trees and shrubbery, pick up litter, and clean and repair fire pits. Cut trees and heavy vegetation with axes, chainsaws, or powered brush cutters; stack heavy logs, lumber, and sacks of cement, etc., or perform other duties requiring similar judgment and comparable heavy physical effort. #J-18808-Ljbffr National Park Service
