Manufacturing Associate II - Sorrento Valley - 1st & 2nd Shift - $20.50/hr

Job Description

The Manufacturing Associate II works in a cleanroom environment on a high-volume production line to assemble, inspect, and package continuous glucose monitoring systems. This role focuses on precise manual assembly, strict adherence to standard operating procedures, and accurate electronic documentation to support the production of medical devices for hospital use.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cleanroom within the transmitter department to support production activities.
• Manually assemble and build continuous glucose monitoring systems (G6 Pro) by moving components one by one down the line.
• Pair and attach applicators to transmitter components with a high level of accuracy and care.
• Inspect products at each stage of the assembly process to identify and remove defective parts.
• Package finished products for shipment to hospitals, ensuring all quality and labeling requirements are met.
• Learn and competently perform each portion of the production line to provide flexibility and coverage as needed.
• Perform electronic line clearances and accurately enter production data into the Camstar application.
• Maintain the required pace of the production line while performing very repetitive tasks with consistent quality.
• Follow all SOP, GMP, and GDP requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all cleanroom protocols to maintain a controlled environment.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and strong tenure to support continuous production schedules.
• Collaborate and work closely with other employees on the manufacturing floor while minimizing unnecessary side conversations in a loud environment.

Essential Skills

• 2–4 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in production, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
• Comfort working in a cleanroom environment while wearing full personal protective equipment.
• Ability to follow SOP, GMP, and GDP requirements accurately and consistently.
• Strong attention to detail for inspecting products and performing precise manual assembly.
• Capability to maintain a fast-paced, repetitive workflow without sacrificing quality.
• Reliable attendance and consistent work history to support production needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on a production line in a medical device or similarly regulated environment.
• Familiarity with electronic data entry and production systems such as Camstar or similar applications.
• Comfort working closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement.
• Willingness to work overtime, including starting shifts up to two hours early when needed.

Work Environment

This position is based on a manufacturing floor within a temperature-controlled cleanroom that tends to be cold. You will work on a production line in a loud environment where side chatter is discouraged to maintain focus and safety. The role requires wearing a full cleanroom suit, including mask, goggles, gloves, hair net, shoe covers, full bunny suit, and head cover, all provided by the employer. For contamination control, no makeup, jewelry, piercings, fake nails, or nail polish are allowed on the manufacturing floor. Work is extremely fast paced and highly repetitive, and you will be in close proximity to other employees throughout the shift. Overtime is not mandatory but is preferred, typically up to two hours before the regular shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
