Data Security Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Data Security Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Boston, MA . The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Immuta policy configuration, BigID integrations, and data access governance, along with expertise in implementing enterprise data security controls across cloud data platforms.

Rate Range: $48/hour to $52/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Data Security Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Configure and manage BigID connectors across enterprise data platforms, including Snowflake, Databricks, and S3/Iceberg environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain Immuta access control policies , including RBAC, PBAC, and ABAC frameworks.
• Build and optimize data classification models using regex, machine learning-based classifiers, and named entity recognition techniques .
• Integrate Immuta with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and SCIM for identity-driven policy enforcement.
• Develop and support BigID-to-Immuta metadata and tag synchronization processes along with downstream governance integrations.
• Support policy-as-code and CI/CD deployment processes for governance and security policy management.
• Validate and monitor policy enforcement across data consumption platforms such as Power BI and SAS .

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity , or related field.
• 3-4 years of experience in data security, data governance, or data protection engineering .
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  
  • Immuta configuration
  • Policy setup and management
  • RBAC, PBAC, and ABAC
  • BigID integration and configuration
• Experience implementing enterprise data governance and access control frameworks.
• Strong understanding of data classification, metadata management, and security controls.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and governance solutions.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Snowflake
• Experience with Databricks
• Experience with AWS S3 and Apache Iceberg
• Familiarity with Atlan, Collibra, or Informatica IDMC
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and policy-as-code deployment models
• Exposure to highly regulated industries and enterprise compliance initiatives

Pay Details: $48.00 to $52.00 per hour
