The role involves providing leadership that enhances the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. You will utilize the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families. You will also implement medically prescribed interventions.
Qualifications Required:
- Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with the expectation of obtaining a BSN within five years of starting in the RN role. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and entities. Exemptions or extensions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Each facility will track exemptions as needed. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt.
- License: Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing is mandatory. An eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; the licensee should verify with the NCBON. A Registered Nurse license must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in the operating room is necessary.
