Class A Equipment Truck Driver

The company values safety, quality, and customer service while offering career growth and training opportunities. Responsibilities Open and close the rental yard according to company procedure. Perform daily vehicle safety inspections on truck and trailer; promptly report any issues to the manager. Communicate with the manager about maintenance and preventative maintenance of truck and trailer. Properly load, secure, and unload machines, equipment, and specialty attachments following company procedure. Plan routes and schedules to meet customer expectations. Notify the manager if a route is compromised, causing a delay in delivery. Safely deliver and pick up heavy equipment and specialty attachments. Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records using the e‑log system. Inform the supervisor promptly of difficulties with deliveries or pickups. Verify order details and obtain customer signature on the delivery ticket. Provide excellent customer service during the delivery transaction. Explain machine and equipment operation to customers, using Standard Operating Procedures when needed. Notify management immediately of damages or mechanical issues to equipment or specialty attachments. Provide the manager with proper delivery documents so counts can be verified before unloading at the Service Center. Extract keys from the vehicle or haul equipment upon delivery back to the Service Center. Report all safety incidents or violations to the supervisor immediately. Follow Standard Operating Procedures while carrying out the responsibilities of the position. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines. Comply with all government safety requirements and other regulations. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations in written or verbal form. Attend all Department, Service Center, and Safety meetings. Perform other duties as requested. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not required. Valid Class A CDL with an excellent motor‑vehicle record. Experience with gooseneck trailers/RGN trailers and construction equipment (required). Knowledge of current DOT and FMCSA laws and regulations. Understanding of frequently used sales and customer‑relations concepts, practices, and procedures. Travel 95% business travel. Requires working in multiple states.
