AE - Merchandising Team Leader (Assistant Manager)

Overview Your Role — As the full-time Merchandising Team Leader, you are the Store Team Leader's go-to in developing and implementing the Merchandising strategy for the store. You train and coach your team into great merchants delivering AEO brand Visual standards every day. Through your leadership, your team nails floorset execution and maintains merchandising and marketing brand standards. You ensure the store is guest-ready through effective replenishment. You represent our company values and bring your REAL self to work every day. Responsibilities You have a passion for driving sales: As a Leader on Duty (LOD), you drive sales by maximizing fitting room and salesfloor productivity and building guest loyalty through a best-in-class guest experience. You contribute to the store’s financial success by analyzing reporting and daily trends to make strategic business decisions. You collaborate with the Store Team Leader to develop short- and long-term business plans to drive key KPIs. Merchandising innovator: You coach the team to deliver an outstanding guest experience by ensuring the store represents AEO Brand Standards. You lead day-to-day merchandising, sell-through adjustments, and replenishment, and act on merchandising opportunities with a proactive game plan. People leadership: You motivate and inspire your team through AEO’s core values. You model leadership and hold the team accountable to customer service standards on the Salesfloor and in the Fitting Room. Talent development: You recruit and hire strong talent to ensure the store is staffed to meet business needs. You train and develop your team to deliver outstanding service. Teamwork and coaching: You provide ongoing performance feedback through real-time coaching, conduct team touchbases, development plans, and performance reviews, and drive associate engagement by recognizing performance. Operational excellence: You execute daily operations, maintain visual standards across all zones, and ensure the Fitting Rooms are guest-ready and aligned with Brand Standards. Integrity and compliance: You uphold store safety, Asset Protection standards, and AEO policies and procedures. Qualifications Experience leading retail teams in a management role with a track record of coaching and developing staff. Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail, prioritization, and time-management skills. Strong leadership and people-management capabilities with an understanding of employment law.
