Job Description

This role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing industrial electrical systems and equipment in a fast-paced airport maintenance environment. You will work with high-voltage systems, industrial controls, motors, transformers, and building electrical infrastructure while ensuring full compliance with NEC, OSHA, and internal safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, test, and adjust electrical machinery, equipment, and associated testing devices in an industrial airport environment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical systems, including AC and DC motors, generators, transformers, relays, and solid-state circuitry.
• Diagnose and repair electrical components such as transistors, diodes, power supplies, and control systems.
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals to complete installations and repairs accurately.
• Install, bend, and run conduit, and pull and terminate electrical wiring for new and existing systems.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair building electrical systems and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Work safely around high-voltage electrical systems and equipment, including 480V installations.
• Follow all NEC, OSHA, and company safety regulations and procedures at all times.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and testing documentation for all work performed.
• Support conveyor system and conveyor belt electrical troubleshooting and repair as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and other trades to coordinate work in a busy, operational airport environment.
• Adapt to changing operational priorities and respond promptly to urgent maintenance needs.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 24 months of Industrial Electrician experience.
• Hands-on experience working with high-voltage electrical equipment, including 480V systems.
• Proficiency in installing conduit and pulling electrical wire in industrial or commercial settings.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex industrial electrical systems.
• Experience with industrial electrical components such as AC/DC motors, generators, transformers, relays, and solid-state circuitry.
• Ability to diagnose and repair transistors, diodes, power supplies, and control systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document work and coordinate with team members.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when planning and executing electrical work.
• Ability to lift, carry, crawl, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as required by the job.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety and productivity.

• Journey-level Electrician experience is preferred.
• Experience in an industrial, transportation, aviation, or large facility maintenance environment is highly desirable.
• Background as an Industrial Electrician or Commercial Electrician working with 480V and high-voltage systems.
• Experience with conduit installation, electrical troubleshooting, and conveyor systems or conveyor belts.
• Familiarity with NEC and OSHA regulations and their application in industrial environments.
• Membership eligibility in a labor union environment, including completion of a probationary period before bidding into other locations or stations.

Work Environment

This is a 24/7 operation that requires flexibility to work any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. You will work in both outdoor and indoor environments in and around airport facilities, often in active operational areas. Schedule assignments are based on operational needs and seniority, and shift differentials apply for certain schedules, such as swing and mid-shifts. The role involves working around high-voltage equipment, conveyor systems, and industrial electrical infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on safety, adherence to NEC and OSHA standards, and consistent use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

This is a Permanent position based out of San Francisco, CA.

The pay range for this position is $84198.40 - $84198.40/yr.
