US Field Medical Affairs, Team Lead - Rheumatology/Dermatology

Merck seeks a credentialed medical leader to oversee a field-based team of Regional Medical Scientific Directors in rheumatology and dermatology. The role involves team management, field execution of medical plans, compliance oversight, and alignment with corporate medical affairs objectives across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Manage, recruit, and onboard field-based medical affairs professionals on assigned team
- Monitor team performance through field observations, coaching visits, and stakeholder feedback analysis
- Develop and communicate disease state field execution plans aligned to scientific exchanges and research initiatives
- Ensure team compliance with company ethics, policies, and pharmaceutical industry regulations
- Review expenses and serve as financial steward of company resources
Requirements
- MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, or DO credential required
- 3+ years field-based medical role experience with customer engagement competency
- Therapeutic area knowledge in rheumatology and/or dermatology
- Strong leadership, interpersonal communication, and presentation abilities
- Thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and pharmaceutical compliance regulations
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and lead in dynamic environments
- Commitment to building inclusive, diverse, and equitable team environments
