General Construction Laborer

Pay: $25.00–$31.25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Company Description Home Style Builders Inc. is a licensed, bonded, and insured construction and remodeling contractor serving residential clients throughout Los Angeles County. Our work includes concrete grinding and polishing, epoxy and other floor coatings, sealers, painting, drywall, remodeling, repairs, and general construction. Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, experienced field worker with hands‑on knowledge in several of the following areas: Painting Drywall installation and repair Concrete grinding and polishing Concrete and floor sealers Epoxy flooring and coatings General construction, repairs, and handyman work Basic plumbing and electrical experience is desired but not mandatory. This is a regular employee position serving jobsites throughout Los Angeles County. We anticipate full‑time work during busy periods; however, hours will depend on active project schedules and may be part‑time during slower periods. Applicants must be comfortable with a flexible schedule, changing job locations, and performing different types of work based on each project’s needs. The ideal candidate has strong concrete and epoxy experience along with a well‑rounded background in construction, remodeling, maintenance, or handyman work. We are looking for someone who can contribute across multiple trades rather than perform only one specialized task. Primary Responsibilities Prepare concrete surfaces for coatings, polishing, sealing, and repairs. Operate concrete grinders, polishers, industrial vacuums, and related equipment. Mix and apply epoxy, floor coatings, sealers, and similar products. Identify and address cracks, surface damage, moisture concerns, and other surface‑preparation issues. Grind and polish concrete to the required finish. Prepare surfaces and perform interior or exterior painting. Install, patch, repair, finish, and prepare drywall. Perform general construction, remodeling, maintenance, and handyman tasks. Assist with basic plumbing and electrical tasks when qualified and directed. Perform basic demolition, site preparation, material handling, and jobsite cleanup. Protect surrounding surfaces and maintain a clean, organized, and secure worksite. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and correctly. Follow product specifications, company procedures, and applicable safety requirements. Communicate with supervisors and crew members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. Adapt to changing responsibilities, jobsite conditions, and project requirements. Qualifications Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following: painting, drywall, concrete grinding and polishing, floor coatings, sealers, epoxy, or general construction. Concrete grinding, concrete polishing, epoxy, or floor‑coating experience is strongly preferred. Broad construction, remodeling, maintenance, or handyman experience is highly valued. Basic plumbing or electrical experience is a plus but is not required. Familiarity with grinders, polishers, industrial vacuums, hand tools, and power tools is preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, product specifications, and safety procedures. Ability to evaluate jobsite conditions and complete work carefully and efficiently. Dependable, punctual, hardworking, and able to work independently or as part of a crew. Willingness to learn new techniques and assist with work outside a primary trade. Ability to lift and carry construction materials, stand or kneel for extended periods, and perform physical work in varying jobsite conditions. Ability to travel reliably to different jobsites throughout Los Angeles County. Authorization to work in the United States is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial but not required. Schedule Work hours are based on active project schedules. The position is expected to provide full‑time hours when project volume permits, but hours may be reduced to part‑time during slower periods. Start times, workdays, locations, and weekly hours may vary depending on project needs. Location and Commute Requirements Applicants must have reliable transportation and be able to report on time to varying jobsites throughout the San Fernando Valley and West Los Angeles. Compensation The hourly pay range is $25.00–$31.25 , depending on the candidate’s relevant experience, skill level, and qualifications.
