Air Reserve Technician

Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to develop and implement aircraft maintenance work plans and schedules to ensure the effective and efficient accomplishment of required maintenance and coordination in support of unit operational flight scheduling. Additionally, provides training to reservist in the accomplishment of the tasks set forth herein.

DUTIES:

• Develops maintenance plans for assigned aircraft and associated equipment.
• Develops preliminary operational schedules (utilization plans) and provides the Operations Group with an estimate of maintenance support capability to meet operational requirements.
• Coordinates the implementation of the Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) Program.
• Monitors configuration management of the unit aircraft.
• Conducts training and skill level progression of assigned Air Force Reserve production schedulers.

Conditions of employment:

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join
• Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance as a condition of employment
• If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations

• Total salary varies depending on location of position
• This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
• This is a testing designated position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing
• Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
• Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
• Employee must maintain current certifications
• Superior Qualifications will be considered

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Production Control Series 1152.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.

OR EDUCATION: Must have 1 full year of higher-level graduate education which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies necessary to do the work of the position.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

• This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted position.
• The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements.
• The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY) away from normal duty station.
• The incumbent may be required to work overtime to meet workload demands.
