Laboratory Assistant

Position Overview The Laboratory Assistant role at Sanvita Medical is a full-time, on-site position based in Billerica, MA.We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent science or engineering graduate looking to gain hands‑on, practical laboratory experience in an active environment. The ideal candidate will assist with daily lab operations, data entry, sample preparation, and maintenance of standard laboratory safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Lab Operations & Maintenance: Assist with setup, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, glass science tools, and workstations. Data & Documentation: Organize, log, and analyze experimental data using Microsoft Excel. Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation. Sample & Inventory Management: Prepare materials, solutions, and reagents. Monitor inventory levels and reorder standard laboratory consumables as needed. Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and environmental health and safety guidelines. Team Support: Collaborate with lab managers, technicians, and senior staff to support ongoing experiments and daily workflow needs. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related scientific/engineering discipline. Experience: 0–3 years of laboratory experience (academic laboratory experience gained during degree coursework or research assistantships fulfills this requirement). Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, formatting). Familiarity with basic GLP, standard lab safety procedures, and PPE protocols. Schedule Flexibility: Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule depending on project needs and peak active hours of the role. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, clear communication, solid organizational abilities, and a reliable team‑first attitude.
