MH Supervisor Nursing

$43.43 - $86.87 per hour

SUMMARY

Provides implementation of Finance and Performance Improvement Initiatives, daily Human Resources Management of specific area of responsibility, technical expertise, leadership over a functional area, and quality customer service initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Performance Improvement Quality Demonstrates solid understanding of optimal standards in their field. Translates hospital goals into operational practice. Maintains current industry standards knowledge and recognizes when quality is compromised. Corrects situations to improve quality. Collaborates with department director to set realistic short‑ and long‑term goals. Participates in process development to measure quality of service, assists in data collection, and encourages staff participation. Shares findings to enhance service quality. Promotes staff awareness of budget process, cost containment and savings techniques. Maintains awareness of current inventory and works within budget constraints. Makes recommendations for capital and small expenditures, staff mix, contracts, and provides data to director. Collaborates with director in reviewing financial reports. Demonstrates appropriate utilization of staff resources, monitors overtime and staffing against volume variations. Monitors and evaluates use of supplies and equipment. Supports director in effectively managing department within budgetary constraints. Leadership/Management Skills Demonstrates awareness of departmental needs; serves as a role model; possesses working knowledge of technical and clinical skills. Identifies operational problems and communicates resolutions, addressing productivity. Collaborates with director, staff, and other departments to support productivity goals. Balances service delivery, supervision, and administrative responsibilities; adapts to change. Coaches staff to improve productivity and provides feedback. Creates an environment of mutual respect and motivates staff for optimal efficiency. Participates in committees, meets attendance standards, completes assignments, and shares ideas. Facilitates staff support and involvement; fosters a positive working environment. Supports hospital functions through donation, participation, and community outreach. Maintains clinical/technical competency; manages crises and provides staff support. Uses innovative approaches for staff development. Participates in policy development. Human Resources Management Interprets policies and contracts; conducts performance appraisals; documents performance; ensures fair and timely processes. Collaborates with director on recruitment and retention. Monitors absenteeism and counsels staff. Promotes teamwork and understands employee needs. Encourages staff to pursue continuing education and develop professional goals. Manages safety protocols, provides orientation, and addresses safety issues. Communicates effectively and maintains accurate records; respects confidentiality. Customer Service Evaluates patient/family/visitor needs, acts as liaison, and responds to feedback. Identifies internal customers, delivers required services, and seeks constructive criticism. Maintains relations with medical staff and acts as liaison between staff and patients. Communicates budget constraints to medical staff appropriately. Engages with community groups; promotes external customer relations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BSN preferred; BLS and ACLS required. 3–5 years of successful nursing experience. Experience in supervision or patient flow process preferred. Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Knowledge of patient care resources within the organization.
