Children's Program Aide

We are seeking a Full‑time Children's Program Aide to join our Family Hope Center. The Children’s Program Aide serves in a strategic function at Buckner Children and Family Services and is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of all children programs. What you’ll do: Provide an environment that is growth producing and stimulates self‑confidence, trust, and respect for others. Remain attentive to the physical, emotional, spiritual, and academic growth of the children under supervision. Ensure the environment is age‑appropriate, culturally sensitive, and allows for children’s personal expression. Participate with youth in character development and service‑learning projects. Maintain a positive attitude and approach when working with children, parents, guests, and coworkers. Report to the supervisor any special needs or problems of individual children. Support the program with a regularly scheduled daily plan that includes recreation, responsibility, and spirituality. Implement appropriate discipline and supervision in accordance with Buckner policy, regulatory requirements, and the needs of the children. Maintain the facility in a clean and orderly manner and report needed repairs to the supervisor. Maintain awareness of children’s needs and implement program changes as directed. Maintain records, daily report sheets, incident reports, and other documentation as necessary. Assist with paperwork, bulletin boards, and other documentation to develop and enhance children’s skills. Assist youth with homework, arts, and crafts projects and implement recreation activities. Report immediately any suspected child abuse or neglect to the supervisor. Provide safe transportation for children in the Buckner van or other vehicle as required. Assist with cleaning duties, including wiping tables, emptying trash, etc. Assist with menu planning, preparation, and delivery of snack and/or meal items. Attend and participate in meetings and in‑service training, including CPR and First Aid training. What you’ll bring: High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) required. Current CPR and First Aid certifications; must attend additional required training. Strong moral character, personal attributes, and mannerisms that reflect a positive role model for youth and families. Proficient ability to speak, read, and write English. Positive attitude and approach when working with children and parents. Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or a personal vehicle with a valid state license, proof of liability insurance, and eligibility for Buckner’s insurance. Must be 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner. Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects or people.
