We are seeking a New Patient Scheduler to join our team. This position plays an important role in creating a positive first impression for new patients and referring providers. The New Patient Scheduler is responsible for coordinating new patient appointments, pre-registering patients, obtaining and verifying demographic and insurance information, setting up patient charts, and responding to incoming calls.

The successful candidate will be professional, personable, organized, and attentive to detail while managing a high volume of patient and provider interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule new patient appointments and assist with appointment cancellations and rescheduling.
• Pre-register new patients and accurately collect demographic and insurance information.
• Verify and update patient information and establish new patient charts in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Respond professionally and courteously to incoming calls, questions, and general information requests.
• Direct or transfer callers to the appropriate clinical department or team member when necessary.
• Document calls and other pertinent information accurately in the appropriate database or EHR.
• Assist with patient referrals and facilitate physician consultation requests.
• Maintain current physician, location, and clinical service information.
• Assist with scheduling reports, interface reports, and related administrative tasks.
• Communicate with and support referring physician offices to help strengthen referral relationships.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy and organizational requirements.
• Support other administrative responsibilities and duties as assigned.
