Wiring Technician

The Electrical Technician performs a variety of hands-on electrical assembly tasks, including crimping, pinning, and working with wire harnesses and cable assemblies. This role involves cutting and preparing wires, installing terminals and connectors, and testing harnesses to ensure quality and reliability. You will follow diagrams and written instructions to complete production and electronic assembly work in a clean, modern facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical assembly tasks for production and electronic components.
• Carry out crimping and pinning operations on wires, terminals, and connectors.
• Work with wire harnesses and cable assemblies, from initial layout through final testing.
• Cut wires to specified lengths and connect terminals and connectors onto wires accurately.
• Test wire harnesses and cable assemblies to verify proper functionality and quality.
• Handle and assemble wires ranging from 2 AWG to 22 AWG in accordance with specifications.
• Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and written instructions to complete assemblies.
• Use hand tools and assembly equipment safely and efficiently during mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
• Perform soldering on electronic and electrical components as required.
• Assist with PCB and printed circuit board-related wiring and assembly activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in the production and warehouse environment.
• Follow established production processes, quality standards, and safety procedures at all times.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience with electrical assembly preferred.
• Strong experience with electrical wiring, including work with wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Ability to perform crimping and pinning on a variety of terminals and connectors.
• Proficiency in working with wires ranging from 2 AWG to 22 AWG.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and written instructions.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools used in electrical and mechanical assembly.
• Capability to perform soldering on electrical and electronic components.
• Experience with production and electronic assembly processes.
• Knowledge of PCB and printed circuit board wiring and assembly practices.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable assemblies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experienced in mechanical assembly in addition to electrical assembly.
• Familiarity with warehouse or production environments.
• Comfort working with both small-gauge and larger-gauge wires.
• Ability to follow standardized work instructions and quality procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean work area.
• Willingness to work overtime when offered during busy periods.

Work Environment

This role is based in a new facility that opened approximately two years ago, featuring a very clean warehouse and production area. The position operates on a first shift schedule, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Work is performed in a hands-on environment using standard hand tools and equipment for electrical, mechanical, and electronic assembly tasks, including wiring, crimping, pinning, soldering, and PCB-related work. The setting supports focused, detail-oriented assembly work with optional overtime available during busy periods.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
