Human Resources Generalist

Responsibilities Serve as a strategic HR business partner to assigned locations and leadership teams Partner with managers to support employee relations, performance management, coaching, and team development initiatives Conduct and manage employee investigations, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns in a fair and compliant manner Drive employee engagement, retention, and culture-building initiatives across multiple locations Coach managers on employee communication, accountability, performance expectations, and difficult conversations Support workforce planning, staffing strategies, and organizational growth initiatives Collaborate with operational leadership to improve employee experience and strengthen workplace culture Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment law compliance Identify trends related to turnover, engagement, and employee relations and recommend proactive solutions Assist with leadership development and manager training initiatives Partner cross-functionally with HR team members to ensure efficient delivery of HR services and support Support change management initiatives and organizational improvements as the company continues to grow Travel periodically to assigned locations to support leadership teams, employee engagement, and operational needs Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required 4+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a multi-site environment Strong employee relations and investigation experience required Demonstrated experience building and improving workplace culture and employee engagement Experience coaching and developing managers on performance management and employee relationship responsibilities Solid understanding of employment laws and HR compliance practices Knowledge of Illinois and Chicago employment law strongly preferred; additional multi-state experience is a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally across all levels of an organization Confident, direct, and solutions-oriented approach with the ability to navigate difficult conversations effectively Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and manage multiple locations successfully Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience supporting fast-paced, high-turnover employee populations preferred Ability to travel locally and periodically out of state as needed Comfortable working in pet-friendly environments Experience with HRIS systems such as UKG/Kronos is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr PACE Staffing Alternatives
