Security Officer

Pay Range Pay Range: $19.00 - $27.55. Actual pay rate will be based on experience, skills, training, certifications and education. Job Overview Security Officers ensure the well‑being of both people and property by patrolling assigned areas and maintaining safety at HSHS facilities. The role is based at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. Responsibilities Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security. Respond to incidents and emergencies as required. Check and secure entry points and exits. Maintain accurate logs and reports of activities. Collaborate with security staff and law‑enforcement agencies as necessary. Qualifications Associate’s degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or related field; or High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years security officer/law‑enforcement/military experience. Minimum 1 year of experience with knowledge of private security functions (military, public safety, or fire department acceptable). Valid state driver’s license. Certifications & Licenses MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) training/certification required at hire or within 90 days of hire. Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) certification preferred within the first 90 days of employment. Schedule & Hours Full‑time, Night Shift 6:00pm – 6:00am, 40 hours per week.
