ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

The Facilities Maintenance & HVAC Mechanic is responsible for the physical plant, the manufacturing equipment in the facility and the service, or repair heating and air conditioning systems. This position is responsible for regular preventative maintenance as well as responding to immediate needs throughout the plant and remote store locations. This position shall also be available to the shipping and receiving department, especially during peak holiday periods.

HVAC MECHANIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES :

• Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
• Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
• Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring and perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Discuss heating or cooling system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that repairs corrected malfunctions
• Repair or service heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency and conduct regular preventive maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, cleaning ducts, or refilling non-toxic refrigerants and component cleaning.

FACILITIES MECHANIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain a Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with the goal being to minimize service needs during peak production periods.
• Perform PM’s according to schedules developed and manufacturer’s recommendation.
• Complete and maintain the lockout/tagout program. Assure implementation by developing a training manual and installing adequate supply stations
• Bring concerns regarding physical plant or equipment upgrades or repairs to the attention of the Production Manager; coordinate scheduling of repairs with vendors as requested by VP of Manufacturing.
• Run daily errands as needed
• At all times, serve as a professional and courteous representative of the Company when dealing with the public or co-workers
• Obtain and adequately store copies of equipment manuals, parts lists, schematics, service schedules and modification updates
• Keep accurate and up to date records of PM and repairs done on all equipment and plant systems
• Inspect on regular basis equipment, and plant systems.
• Maintain adequate supply of spare parts
• Respond in a timely manner to maintenance needs
• Assure that tools are organized and kept in good condition. Monitor their use by check in / checkout procedures
• Be available to work a flexible schedule depending on maintenance/PM needs
• Sweep walks, remove snow, de-ice walkways or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
• Shared responsibility and participation in GMPs
• Shared responsibility of maintaining HACCP compliance
• Assist in other departments as needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

At least 3 years of proven experience as an HVAC technician or facilities maintenance technician with a focus on HVAC systems. Knowledge of HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance techniques. Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and guidelines related to HVAC systems. Read, write and verbally communicate in English; mathematical accuracy; organizational skills; Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical, electrical, atomic and sub- atomic structures and processes valid Colorado driver’s license and clean driving record; work well within a team environment; good relational skills with coworkers and public

Tools, Equipment or Machinery Used :

forklift certification (can obtain on the job), vehicles, pallet jacks, scales, taping machines, postal meter, tape guns, tools. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Minimum Physical Requirements :

be able to stand and move on cement floors for prolonged periods of time; go in and out of freezer units with designated protection; continuously lift over 40 pounds, bend, kneel, turn, lift arms above shoulder height; push approximately 100 lbs; see, grasp tools, handle or feel objects Near vision- the ability to see details at close range; finger dexterity- the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble very small objects.
