About Duke Regional Hospital Pursue your passion for caring with Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. With 388 beds it is the second largest of Duke Health's four hospitals and offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and diagnostic services, including orthopedics, weight‑loss surgery, women's services, and heart and vascular services. Job Summary The Practice Administrator provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for multiple ambulatory clinic locations within an assigned service area. Clinics under the Practice Administrator's leadership meet defined criteria for scope based on FTE count, patient volume, clinical complexity, and operational footprint. The Practice Administrator ensures high-quality patient care, financial sustainability, and operational efficiency across all assigned locations. This role partners with physician and advanced practice provider leadership, Nurse Managers, Clinic Managers, and the Ambulatory Operations Director to drive service line performance and align operations with DUHS goals, regulatory standards, and patient experience expectations. Location 3643 N. Roxboro Road Durham, NC 27704 Hours Full‑time, Supervising operations of the practice Work Performed Provide overall operational leadership and administrative oversight for designated oncology clinics, ensuring alignment with service line and DUHS strategic goals. Partner with physician, advanced practice provider, and nursing leadership to optimize clinical operations, patient access, and quality of care. Develop, manage, and monitor clinic budgets, including payroll, capital, and operating expenses; implement strategies for cost control and revenue growth. Oversee scheduling workflows, including provider template management. Oversee recruitment, selection, development, and evaluation of certain administrative positions relevant to their focus area, including Service Access Managers. Lead the implementation of standard work processes, performance improvement initiatives, and patient experience programs. Monitor compliance with regulatory, accreditation, safety, and infection control requirements. Analyze operational and financial performance data; develop and execute action plans to address gaps and opportunities. Serve as a liaison between assigned clinic(s) and service line, system leadership, and external partners; represent clinic(s) in system‑level initiatives. Coordinate operational support for providers, ensuring appropriate resource allocation, clinic infrastructure, and operational readiness. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership and strategic management skills in a multi‑site environment. Comprehensive knowledge of ambulatory operations, financial management, and regulatory compliance. Ability to lead through influence and foster collaboration across multiple disciplines. Proven skills in budget development, performance improvement, and change management. Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business, or a related field. Master's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in ambulatory or hospital operations, with at least two years in a leadership role managing multiple clinic or departmental locations. Experience in ambulatory or outpatient clinic operations preferred.
